Lucid Blocks draws the whole game into a small 300x256 image and stretches that image to fill the window. The world never gets more than 256 pixels of height, whatever your monitor size is. This mod renders the world at the full resolution of the window. The interface keeps its original layout and pixel-art look.
What it does
- Switches the window stretch mode from "viewport" to "canvas_items", keeping the same 300x256 base size and keep-height aspect.
- The 3D world and full-screen effects draw at the native window resolution instead of the 300x256 raster.
- The HUD and menus still lay out on the 300x256 canvas, so interface elements keep their size and position.
- Can lock the 3D render scale at 100%, so the in-game render scale setting cannot pull the world back down.
- Can hide the dithering overlay. Its pattern was tuned for the 300x256 raster and looks different at high resolutions.
The mod applies the new mode before the first frame is drawn, and reapplies it when a world loads or after you change graphics settings, because the game resets the render scale on every settings change.
Install
- Download
lucid_native_resolution.pck. - Put it into the
modsfolder next to the game executable. On Steam this is<Steam library>\steamapps\common\lucid-blocks\mods. - Restart the game. The mod loads at boot; there is nothing to enable in game.
If the world still looks blocky after a restart, open the Mods menu (F10) and check that the mod is enabled.
Options
Change these in the Mods menu (F10):
force_full_render_scale(default: on) keeps the 3D render scale at 100%. The game reapplies its render_scale setting each time you change graphics settings; the mod puts 100% back right after. Turn this off if you want the in-game render scale to work as usual.disable_dither(default: off) hides the dithering overlay. Turn it on if the dither pattern looks noisy at your resolution.
Known quirks
- The game now shades many more pixels, so the frame rate can drop on weak GPUs. Turn
force_full_render_scaleoff and lower the in-game render scale if you need the headroom back. - The dither pattern becomes finer at high resolutions. Try
disable_ditherif it bothers you.
